“Kris Kringle” is a derivative

of ‘Krist Kindl’ which means

‘Christ Child’. Soon, we will
celebrate once again the
birthday of Jesus, the Christ
who entered into our history as
a Child.
As we continue our preparations for
the great feast of His first coming, we
are also reminded to look forward to
His final coming. Our preparations,
therefore, must not be limited to the
external trimmings. Instead, we must
pay more attention to our interior
readiness.
Christmas is for Jesus. And Jesus is
God who came among us as a poor
little baby to show us that the most
important things are not our material
possessions. Rather, what is most
important is the love we show to
others through our kindness, respect
and care.
Our particular ‘Kris Kringle’, whose
name we are about to pick, is a
representative of the Christ Child, born in
a poor stable and had a manger for his
bed. As we prepare our hearts for the
coming of Jesus, we practice our loving
and caring towards others beginning
with our Kris Kringle.
Let us pray that Jesus
Himself will grant us the
wisdom of the Magi who saw a
great King in a baby lying in a
poor manger! May we see in
our Kris Kringle the image of
God who hides in human
weakness.
Furthermore, as we prepare
to give our material gift to our
Kris Kringle, may we keep in
mind that whatever it would be,
it will only be a symbol of the
love which we want to give to
the Christ Child Himself.

Matthew 2: 1-2, 10-11

SHORT PAUSE…

Leader : Let us now take turn in getting
the name of our ‘Christ child’ or ‘Kris
kringle’ as we prayerfully sing, ‘O
COME, DIVINE MESSIAH’.
O come, Divine
Messiah, the world in
silence waits the day
when hope shall
sing its triumph and
sadness flee away.
Sweet Savior, haste.
Come, come to
earth. Dispel the
night
and show Your face
and bid us hail the
O come, Divine
Messiah, the world in
silence waits the day
when hope shall
sing its triumph and
sadness flee away.
PRAYER: (together)
O God, our Father, You willed
that your only begotten Son, God
from God, should come to us
hidden in the weakness of a little
child. We pray that as we wait for
His coming to us many times in our
daily lives, may we be like the Magi,
trained in wisdom, so as
to recognize Him and offer Him
our gift of love even when He
comes veiled in human
weakness. Grant us the grace to
be kind and caring to our Kris
Kringle just as we would to
Jesus Christ Himself. Amen.
Glory be to the Father…

As it was in the
