non-sectarian school primarily
centered to the child’s total
personality development with spiritual
and ethical values in order to live up to
the aspiration of our patron, NUESTRA

When parents are involved in their children’s
education, children:
 Earn higher grades and get higher
scores on tests.
 Attend school more regularly.
 Complete more homework.
When parents are involved in their children’s

and behaviors.
 Graduate from high school at a higher
rate.
 And are more likely to enroll in college
than students with less involved
families.

assignment. Do not do homework for them.
 Step back if you feel yourself losing your temper or
your patience. Do not let your frustration make your
child feel stupid for not understanding.

 As much as possible, keep gadgets away from your
child during weekdays. Keep rules.
 Maintain a sleeping time of at least EIGHT (8) hours a
day.
 Assign reasonable, consistent jobs to do around the
house.
 Encourage your children to be responsible for getting
ready to school each day.
 Establish rules and consequences.

 Monitor media usage.
 Limit the time that your child watched TV, plays video
games, watching YouTube, using social media, and
spends online.
 Model good viewing and playing habits.
 Spend time online with your child.
 Help your child to locate appropriate Internet Web sites.
 Block pornographic web sites.
 Learn the computer if you are unfamiliar with it.

 If there is a scheduled quiz:
 Monitor review
 Give practice tests
 Watch out for frustration.
 Do not force your child to become an honor
student.
 Give constructive criticism.
 Praise and encourage!!!

 Attend Parent-Teacher Conferences (Report of grades
distribution days).
 Come to school if so requested.
 Attend school activities.
 Contact your child’s teacher first with any questions or
concerns.
 Read and sign all home-school communications.
 Wear proper attire when visiting the school.
 And most of all…
 Pay school fees and dues on time.

GUIDELINES ON THE SUSPENSION OF CLASSES
GUIDELINES ON THE SUSPENSION OF
CLASSES
 All public holidays are non-school days.
 In case of inclement weather, NSDGA will follow the
Department of Education Guidelines when suspending
classes. Therefore, until such time that any new
guideline shall have been promulgated and/or issued
by the proper authorities on the matter, the School
shall follow the pronouncements enunciated under
DepEd Order No. 43, Series of 2012.
GUIDELINES ON THE SUSPENSION OF
CLASSES
 Where Signal No. 1 is raised by PAG-ASA, classes at the
KINDERGARTEN level in the affected areas are automatically
cancelled or suspended.
 Where Signal No. 2 is raised by PAG-ASA, classes at the
KINDERGARTEN, ELEMENTARY, and SECONDARY levels in the
affected areas are automatically cancelled or suspended.
 Where Signal No. 3 is raised by PAG-ASA, classes in ALL levels
in the affected areas are automatically cancelled or suspended.
SCHOOL POLICIES AND REGULATIONS
HOUSE RULES
 Only employees and students of NSDGA are allowed unrestricted
entry in the campus during class hours/class days, provided they are
in proper uniform and have the proper identification card
appropriately displayed on their persons.
 Parents/Guardians of bona fide students may be allowed inside the
campus only after securing a visitor’s pass from the guard. They
should be referred to the School Head’s office and must not go
directly to the classroom. Parents/guardians are advised not to
bring along infants or children below three (3) years old.
HOUSE RULES
 All individuals allowed inside the school premises shall observe
good conduct and proper decorum at all times.
 No students shall be allowed inside the campus during declared
suspension of classes on account of inclement weather, civil
disturbance such as transport strike and other emergencies.
 Individuals whose occupation, profession, or business would
necessitate periodic or occasional visits in the school may be
allowed entry only after clearance is given by the School Head.
HOUSE RULES
 Students are strictly prohibited to bring to class and to
use any cellular or mobile phones and all kinds of
electronic gadgets, toys, or similar items. The only
time that they will be allowed to bring with them any
cellular/mobile phone or other electronic gadgets is
during field trips and/or tours outside of the school
whereon the use of these communications device is
advisable.
HOUSE RULES
 Unless in cases of emergency, parents and guardians
are not allowed to interfere in any manner with their
children during class hours. This includes any request
to speak with the student through the telephone. On
occasions where parents/guardians urgently need to
talk to their children while in class, any request to
speak with the concerned student should be coursed
through the proper school authorities.
HOUSE RULES
 Bringing and/or possession of any deadly weapons,
like fan knife or any other bladed/pointed objects,
guns, grenades, firecrackers, explosive powders, as
well as any illegal drugs or prohibited substances,
cigarettes, liquor or other intoxicating beverages, and
similar items are strictly prohibited. Any student
found in violation of this policy may be subject to
immediate exclusion or expulsion from the school.

“As our children’s first and most important
teacher, it’s important that all parents build and
keep strong ties with NSDGA. When parents
and families are involved in their children’s
education, the children do better and have
better feelings about going to school.”
