AIS Project

2 Semester
nd

SY 2019 to 2020
Rationale
 An accountant is expected to know how an accounting system
should operate. In addition, the accountant should be able to
identify the necessary controls to ensure that an
organization’s resources are safeguarded.
 In line with this, the course requires the student to apply the
knowledge of a well-controlled and efficiently operating
accounting system to an existing organization.
 The student must assess the current system of the
organization, critique the weaknesses of such system and
formulate recommendations to improve such weaknesses.
Mechanics
 Students are grouped in a manner determined by the
professor.
 Groups may comprise at most 3 members.
 A particular cycle of the accounting system will be
assigned to each group.
 Each group should adopt an existing organization to be
studied.
 Presentation of the study should be made in the Final
term.
› Sequence of group presentations will be determined by the
professor
› A well written report should be submitted as well.
