SMART WAREHOUSE

MANAGEMENT FOR SPORTS

EQUIPMENT MANAGERS (IOT)
Problems from traditional methods
• Inconsistency in data entered
• Slows down the operations
• Lack of a central customer database
• System is prone to human errors & costs
• Lack of security/theft

Shift to Smart Warehouse Management (SWM)

SWH Methods
• Barcode scanning system - it helps in asset tracking (movement across the
inventory). Barcode equipment is fully functional to be used right from mobile
devices like smartphones and tablets that equipment managers can use daily out in
the field. With one simple click and capture of a barcode, scanners can record all of
the necessary and most up-to-date data on an asset for its entire lifecycle.
• RFID tags -reflect the radio waves from the antennae back to them, giving a real-
time location. RFID is required to keep better track of the movement and storage of
products within your warehouse, and maximizing your efficiency by streamlining the
receipt and shipment of consumer goods.
• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) – small devices that send out a signal which can be
picked up by other Bluetooth devices. They are fairly accurate, and cost-effective.
They can be used for theft-detection by alerting personnel instantly. If that alert goes
out early enough to act on, it can significantly improve the odds of recovering stolen
goods.
