INTRODUCTION

 EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SURVEY: Epidemiology is the study and


analysis of the distribution(who,when,and where ) patterns and disease
conditions defined population.
 Prescription: prescription is a written order by a pysician,dentist
or any other medical practitioner to the pharmacist to compound and
dispense a specific medication for individual patient for treatment.
 Pharmacist verifies the prescription, making sure it is the right drug,
dose, frequency, duration etc based on the indication (disease or
condition the drug is treating ) or in the case that they do not know the
indication, that the dosing etc is reasonable for the drug .

clinicians and researchers so that vis-a-vis comparisons between brain
disorders can be made quickly and accurately. We report here the

 Pharmacist is a health care professional.


 The present survey is based to check the problems and there solutions
made by pharmacist during prescription handling.
 Now a day’s it is observed that there is a communication gape between
pharmacist and prescriber.
 This gape creates a burden on the patient for example many prescriber
do polypharmacy in there prescription.
 the present study is based on the survey between pharmacist working
at retail shops and will be helpful for society.
MATERIAL METHOD

 WE HAVE SELECTED 100 VOLUNTEERS AND AN EPIDEMIOLOGICAL

SURVEY WAS PERFORMED WITH THE HELP OF SCIENTIFICALLY


DISIGNED QUESTIONNAIRE.
 CONSENT WAS TAKEN FROM EACH VOLUNTEER BEFORE

SURVEY,NAME AND ADRESS WERE KEPT CONFIDENTIALA.


 ON THE BASIS OF DATA OBTAINED FROM THE FILLED QUESTIONNAIRE

THE RESULT WAS ANNALYSED WITH THE HEALP OF PI DIAGRAM…ADD

 Most of the pharmacist can understand the prescription.


 Most of the prescription having often poly pharmacy in the case of
elderly person.
 Generally prescription not contain generic drugs.
 Prescription are according to standards of PCI(PHARMACY COUNCIL
OF INDIA)
 Most of the prescription having advise 'how to take the drug’ and route
of administration in case of injection .
 Important abbreviations are used in prescription.

CONCLUSION

Here on the basis of epidemiological survey on


knowledge attitude of pharmacist regarding
prescription is very use full for future surveys .
About 40% prescription are not according to
standards of PCI.
On the basis of survey we see that polypharmacy
occurs in case of elderly person’s prescription as they
have chronic disease/disorder.
Almost all prescriptions having advice on how to
take medicine efficiently.
FUTURE PROSPECTIVE

This epidemiological survey on knowledge attitude


of pharmacist helps in future to understand
prescription related problem and enable to
pharmacist analysed the prescription.
and also finding out the prescriber must prescribe
the generic medicines for poor people.
Some of those prescriber or not put advise on
prescription of how to take medicine that should be
done correctly in future.
