What are Brakes?
• A brake is a device that
decelerates a moving object or
prevents it from accelerating.
• It transfer Rotational +
Translation energy to other form
of energy
Conventional Braking:
• It uses friction to counteract forward momentum of the vehicle.
• Kinetic energy heat energy (lost to air)
• Approximately 30% of the engines generated power is wasted as heat.
Regenerative Braking:
• Two Types:
1) Serial regenerative braking.
2) Parallel regenerative braking.
Mathematical Modeling :
Components Required:
• DC Machine
• Battery
• Ideal Switches
• Diode
• Vehicle body
• Tire(Magic Formula)
• PSM Option Manu Block(Mask)
• Current Measurement (Mask)(Link)
• Simulink-PS Converter
• Ideal Angular Velocity Source
