Cycle

Cycle is series of
occurrences that repeats or is
repeated.
To explain the cycle use
transition words
Transition
➢ First
➢ Second
➢ Then
➢ Next
➢ And then
➢ After that
➢ Finally
Cycle of Air Conditioner
➢ The first, the hot refrigerant is
pumped from compressor to the
condenser.
➢ The second, the fan blows air into
the condenser and the heat transfer
into the air
➢ The next, warm refrigerant from the
condenser enter the expansion
valve. Increased pressure enables
refrigerant fluid to change from gas
to fluid
➢ After that, cold refrigerant enter the
➢ And then, cool refrigerant go out

evaporator and the cool air is
generated.
➢ Condenser
Condenser is a Heat Exchanger used to condense/transform a high-
pressure gas into a high-pressure liquid that will then be channeled
into the expansion valve.
➢ Expansion Valve
Function of the expansion valve is to lower the temperature and
pressure of the refigerant and serve to change the high-pressure liquid
refrigerant to a low-pressure gas by fogging process after passing the
narrow channel in the expansion valve
➢ Evaporator
Function of the evaporator is to absorb heat from the ambient air and
transfer it to the refrigerant so that the air that is blown fan will be cold
➢ Compressor
The function of the compressor is to pump the refrigerant fluid
throughout the air conditioner and also change the refrigerant from
low-pressure gas to high-pressure liquid refrigerant
Cycle Coolant in Radiator
➢ The first, coolant is pumped by
water pump from radiator to water
jacket
➢ The second, coolant circulation in
water jacket, if the temperature
reach maximum point, thermostat
will open automatically.
➢ After that, hot coolant from engine
flow through flexible hose to
radiator
➢ And then, coolant that has been
cooled, go out from radiator to
water pump.
CAUSE AND EFFECT
Definition

Cause and effect is a methode of paragraph or essay development in which a writer analyzes the reasons
for ; and or the consequences of an action, event,or decision.

Purpose

The purpose of the cause-and-effect is to determine how various phenomena relate in terms of origins and
results.
Cause and Effect

CAUSE
CAUSE is something that produces an event or condition.

EFFECT
EFFECT is what results ,from an event.

When we can understand cause-and-effect,we can identify relationships between events and characters of
relevance.
Signal words

Signal words or transitions are signpost that help guide the reader through the terrain of the writer’s
thoughts.

They help connect the ideas in a text or the evnts in a story.

...
Single Event

1. Her skin got tanned and burned because she was sunbathing.

2. Since I skipped breakfast this morning, I felt lightheaded the whole day in the class.

When there is only one cause and effect in the sentence, like some examples above, then
this is called a single event.
Chain Reaction

Another form of cause effect is chain reaction. This happens when a cause causes an effect
and the effect changes to a cause and causes another effect, or one thing impacts another.
Consider the following example:

1. Sarah forgot to fill up her gas tank. When she drove home from work, she ran out of
gas. So Sarah had to push her car until she found the nearest gas station.

2. Jessica has been studying really hard since the beginning of her college years, she
got mostly A on her report card, and graduated with honor. It makes her parents so
proud, they gift her a three-day trip to Bali after the graduation ceremony.
Branching Tree

when several causes occur at the same time or at other times cause or contribute to an effect. Notice
the example below:

Sandra went home very late last night after taking her father to the emergency room for diarhea. She woke up late
this morning but decided to attend the class anyway. Not far from her house, her tyre got flat, so she had to patch it.
When she’s back on the road, the traffic was surprisingly jammed unlike the usual and she’s trapped. That’s why she
was 50 minutes late to the class this morning.
EXAMPLE

1. When water is heated, the molecules move quickly, therefore the water boils.

2. Since school was canceled, we went to the mall.
3. When the ocean is extremely polluted, coral reefs die.
4. The meal we ordered was cheaper than expected, so we ordered dessert.
5. Since helium rises, a helium balloon floats.
6. There has been an increase in greenhouse gases, therefore global warming is happening
7. Betty completed each task perfectly, therefore she was promoted.
