Reasons for Integration

• Cost effective
• Objective and processes of the MS are similar
• Avoid duplication
• Reduce possibility of solving one problem in an area which results in creating new
difficulties in other areas
• Timely and may promote positivity in all discipline

Reasons against Integration

• Efficient existing system maybe disrupted

• May not be cost effective if there are existing specialists in certain areas
• Uncertainties in key terms
• Health and safety is dependent on legislation while QMS is dependent on customer
satisfaction.
• Regulators may find it difficult to audit and evaluate system that is interwoven
• Reduced ownership
