What are body posture ?
•The position in which you hold your body when standing or sitting.

•Posture can provide a significant amount of important information through nonverbal


communication.
Types of body postures ?

1.Positivebody posture.
2.Negative body posture.
Positive body posture
• Positive posture is the correct alignment of body parts
supported by the right amount of muscle tension against
gravity.
• A good posture uses less energy.
Why is positive posture important?
• Good posture helps us stand, walk, sit, and lie in
positions that place the least strain on supporting
muscles and ligaments during movement and weight-
bearing activities.

• Helps us keep bones and joints in correct alignment.

•Increases self confidence and self esteem.


How to improve posture ?
Some major points for the betterment of our body posture are as
follows :
#Practice yoga to increase flexibility
#Use stretching for a sore neck or back.
#Train your muscles for better posture with strength training.
#Provide support for your back with pillows while sleeping.
