Rat Proofing-
 Rat Proofing- a) Godown should be away from habitation
 b) sould be on high plinth
 c) water accumulation shpuld be avoided
 d) no tree or branches of the tree should hang on the godown
 e) all windows ventilators, gutters, drains should be fitted with 24 gauge
¼” (0.6cm) metal mess
 f) doors must be closely fitted
 g)must have 3’ (90cm) deep pucca foundation
 h) doors should be equipped with 9” (25cm) metal sheet lining at the
bottom
 i) platform stairs in front of godowns should not be allowed overnight.
 j) platform should be 3’ (90 cm) high from ground level
 k) platform should have 12” (30.5cm) projections in an inversed L
shaped manner
 l) Any rat holes observed should be covered with cement
 m) Automatic door closure help in banning rat entry

 Cyano gas fumigation : Calcium cyanide was


use as fumigant.
 Phosphine gas fumigation ; Aluminium
phosphide pellets of 0.6 gms are used.

 For Single dose


 Gastric lavage using 1:5000 potassium
permanganate solution
 cupric sulphate (0.2%) solution may act as an
emetic.
 Beaten whites of 2 or 3 eggs may be given.
 Fat/ oil should be avoided

 Vitamin K is to be given orallyor intravenously
 Transfusion of blood may be necessary in
serious cases.
