In my opinion A drug is any substance that, when
absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters
normal bodily function. In pharmacology, a drug is a
chemical substance used in the treatment, cure,
prevention, or diagnosis or used to otherwise enhance
physical or mental well-being. Some drugs can cause
addiction and habituation. Many natural substances
such as beers, wine, and some mushrooms, blur the line
between food and drugs, as when ingested they affect
the functioning of both mind and body.
To my mind Drug abuse problems are not something
someone thinks about when they begin their drug use.
Some people get addicted to drugs because they want
to experience the thrill, or because they want to fit in
with their friends. Some people experience drug abuse
problems because they need pain medication for a
certain problem, but then become addicted to the
medication. Still no one gets into drugs and expects to
have drug abuse problems.
In my eyes Drug abuse problems are varied and cause
irregular behaviors and actions. The drug user is not the
only person to experience the negative consequences of
drug abuse and addiction. The effects are pervasive,
impacting every area of life including, family, health,
employment and society. No one wants to be angry, to
live on the streets, lose their job, family or to drop out of
school. But these are the type of things that happen to
people who have drug abuse problems
Every year, thousands of people worldwide die
from both smoking tobacco and involuntarily
breathing it in . Despite this, I do not agree
that it should be made illegal . However, I
also believe that there should be a regulation on
its use , considering its harms to health. In the
following paragraphs, I shall put forth my
arguments to support my views
I have no doubt that Drug abuse also has many
potentially harmful effects not only on
individuals but also on family, friends, work
and society. Frequent drug users may turn to
crime to meet the increasing expense for their
habit. Continued drug use may cause personality
changes. Some users lose interest in school or
work, or have difficulty meeting the
responsibilities of a job or family.
