almost (adverb)

Pronunciation: /ˈɔːlməʊst/
Definition: not everything, but very close to it
Example: Last night, it was very cold. The temperatures had dropped to almost
zero-degree Celsius.
cover (verb)

Pronunciation: /ˈkʌvə/
Definition: to lie on the surface of something
Example: In countries like Canada, the snow covers the cars and houses during
winters.
dangerous (adjective)

Pronunciation: /ˈdeɪn(d)ʒ(ə)rəs/
Definition: can harm or hurt someone or something
Example: It is dangerous to drive during a storm. Strong winds can cause many
accidents.
huge (adjective)

Pronunciation: /hjuːdʒ/
Definition: extremely large is size or amount
Example: Many animals and birds hide in huge trees during floods.
last (verb)
Pronunciation: /lɑːst/
Definition: to continue for a period of time
Example: The rainy season didn’t last for long this year. It was over in a month.
lightning (noun)
Pronunciation: /ˈlʌɪtnɪŋ/
Definition: a flash of bright light in the sky during the storm
Example: During the storm, we can see flashes of lightning in the sky.
thunder (noun)
Pronunciation: /ˈθʌndə/
Definition: the sudden loud noise that comes after the lightning
Example: The children got scared by the loud sound of the thunder and started to
cry.
