Thick Client
These are fully featured computers (with HDD, Processors,
Memory etc.) that are connected to a network and provide a
traditional computing environment as standalone devices. It is
independent of the central server in terms of resources and uses
a server only to store / retrieve data.
Thin Client
A mini device based computer used for establishing a remote
connection to a server. The think client is also sometimes known
as “Diskless Node”. It is void of any hard disk and may have a basic
processor used only for data transfer purpose. Such clients are
extensively used in Banks, Railways, Malls etc. where the purpose
is to use a single dedicated application at all times
