failure)
The Musical Fifth

 Shofar blows in a musical fifth. That’s means when

someone blows the base sound of a shofar and then
increases their air pressure into the horn, the sound will
“break” into a second sound that is five notes above the
base note on the musical scale.

The Five Sounds of the Shofar
 God began creation in the evening.
 There are THREE (3) foundational sounds for Shofar
(Gen 1:5 “….there was evening and there was morning – the first day”
mentioned in the Bible.

 2 of the 3 sounds are demonstrated with the shofar in a


number of passages.
 The Third (Middle) sound is strongly identified in the Bible
though indirectly to the shofar
 Two of these three foundational sounds, when
lengthened, create the fourth and fifth sounds identified
in the Bible.
Tekiah: The Striking Sound
 Tekiah: Shofar sound mentioned most frequently in Bible.

glory of God.

God’s arrival.
 The shouts and shofars merged into one awesome long-
lasting staccato sound that permeated the walls of the
resistant city and caused them to collapsed in a heap.
