WHAT QUALITIES MAKE A GOOD TEACHER?

• Backbone
• To me, it is a must to have a backbone! I believe in having fun and
creating a fun place for students, but that does not mean I believe that
teachers can let students walk all over them. You want to create a fun
environment for learning, but also keep authority in the classroom.

• Patience
• I believe patience is a major thing when dealing with a classroom of
kids. You do not want to lose patience and explode on your children,
possibly causing something to be said that should not be. Having
patience will help keep the teacher focused on the task at hand, no
matter how hard it can be.

• Personality
• To be a teacher, I believe it is crucial to have a personality. A good
personality could help grab the student's attention and make him or her
feel safe in the classroom. By doing this, the student is set for success.
WHAT DOES THE WORD “TEACHING” MEAN
TO YOU?
• To me, the word “teaching” means
“impacting.” Every time a teacher teaches a
class, they are impacting students one way
or another. They will either be someone
who makes the student feel welcome, or
someone who makes the student feel like
they don’t belong. No matter what,
teaching is impacting students lives,
hopefully for the good.
HOW DO I WANT TO
BE REMEMBERED
AS A TEACHER?
I want to be remembered as the teacher who
made every student feel like they had a place in
my class. The teacher who inspired students to
be better every single day and to make the most
of life. I want students to look back at my class
with nothing but positive comments and use
what they learned to make a difference in the
world. I also want to be remembered as the
teacher who took students to the next level in
their education. The teacher who did not take
the easy road but showed students that their
hard word pays off.
