 Natural numbers

• Natural numbers are also known as

counting numbers like 1 ,
2,3,4,5,6....... They are denoted by
capital N.
 Whole numbers

• The set of natural numbers along

with (zero / 0 )are called whole
numbers they are denoted by capital
W.
 Integers

• The set of natural numbers along

with whole numbers and negative of
natural numbers are called integers
they are denoted by capital I or Z.

• Formula of from = B-A +1

• Formula of between =B-A-1
 Successor and Predecessor
Successor = the number that comes just after
the given number is called successor.
Predecessor = the number that comes just before
the given number is called predecessor.
 Even numbers

• The numbers which are exactly divisible by 2 are

called even numbers they are denoted by E .
 Odd numbers

• The numbers which are divided by 2

leaves the remainder 1 are known as odd

Difference of two consecutive even numbers

• Difference between any two consecutive

even numbers is 2 .
• Consecutive = two numbers which are
each after the other

 Factors

• The number of factors of a given

number is finite. 1 is the factor of every
number and 1 is the least factor of every
number.
 Perfect number

• A number which sum of all the factors =

twice of the number
 Multiples

• The number of multiples of a given

number is infinite every number is a
multiple of itself and it is the least
multiple of that number
 Product of a number

• The product of a number and a counting

number are known as multiples of that
number . If a number x divides another
number y exactly ,then we say that y is a
multiple of x .
 Multiplication

• When we multiply 2 or more numbers we get a

product . Each number we multiplied is a factor
of that product . If a number x divides another
number y exactly then we say that x is a factor
of y . It is represented as x/y , x divides y .
