Assessing is determining the


person’s current and past
functional and health status.
ASSESSING EXPRESSION

• Sir, do you have serious health problems in the past?


• Mam, can you breath well? Please take a deep breath
• I will check your blood pressure, can you just lay
down your hand
• Oh ..you’ve got a high blood pressure, I think you
should be careful with your food.
• Now I will check your pulse rate
CONVERSATION PRACTICE

• Nurse: Morning sir.


• Patient: Morning
• Nurse : how’s your feeling?
• Patient: not very good actually
• Nurse: ok, I’ll check your blood pressure first
then your pulse rate. Can you just lay down your
hand?
• Patient: ok

• Nurse: well you have a high blood pressure. Do


you have serious health problems in the past?
• Patient: hmm not actually, but few years ago I
have high cholesterol because my hobby is having
junk food all the time.
• Nurse: wow.. That must be stopped sir cause it
will ruin your health
• Patient: yeah you’re right ..
