STEPS TO FOLLOW TO EXPORT

REGISTRATION AS AN EXPORTER

1. Process the UniqueTax Registry (RUT) inany office of the

DIAN or SuperCade
.
MARKET STUDY AND LOCATION OF POTENTIAL DEMAND

Select the market inwhich you want toventure. Identify

thecharacteristics of thecountry where it willbe exported,such as
consumer preferences andregulations.
LOCATION OF THE TARIFF POSITION

Locate the tariff subheading of your
productthrough the customs tariff or in the InformationCenter of
your city.
 PROCEDURES FOR APPROVAL

Consult the DIAN if your product requires prior authorization f
or exportauthorization. After processing them, you
mustsubmit the Shipment Authorization Request tothe DIAN's c
omputer system.
CUSTOMS PROCEDURES FOR DISPATCH BEFORETHE
DIAN:

•  When you have the merchandise listcheck negotiation

terms.

•  You can use a freight or marine agentfor contracting

international transport.

•  In the DIAN of the Port, Airport or Border Crossing, you

can request the Application for Authorization of Boarding.

•  If the export is worth more thanUSD10,000, this procedure

must bedone through a CustomsAgency.
PAYMENT METHODS

There are different means

of international payment: banktransfers, letters of credit,guarant
eed letters, Standbyguarantees.
EXCHANGE PROCEDURES OR
CURRENCYREIMBURSEMENT

It must reintegrate thecurrencies through theintermediaries of th
eexchange market, such as:commercial banks and
other financial entities.
