My favorite video film is «Titanic». It tells the story of a famous ship, the «Titanic»,
which sank in 1912. The «Titanic» was a colossal ship even by modern standards. Its
tragic sinking will always be remembered, for the ship went down on the first voyage with
heavy losses.
 What can you say about the
«Titanic»?
Perhaps we should start with the fact that it's
the most beautiful love story, shown in the
background of the deadly drama. The story of
the real feelings of two young hearts that are
not destined to be together. A landmark
picture, forced to watch millions of viewers
with a sinking heart. This film has it all that
can get pleasure from a real foodie and there is
nothing can complain about the ill-fated critic.
 Director of the film
The director of the film is James Cameron. James Francis
Cameron (born August 16, 1954) is a Canadian filmmaker
and environmentalist, who is best known for making
science fiction and epic films for the Hollywood
mainstream. He was born to Philip Cameron, an electrical
engineer, and Shirley (née Lowe), an artist and nurse.
One of the most successful directors in the world: 7 of his
films have raised more than 5.6 billion US dollars. He
made two of the highest grossing films in the history of
cinema: «Titanic» (1997), which won 11 Oscars (including
the best director, producer and editor received Cameron)
The main parts in the film are played by young actors Leonardo Di Caprio
and Kate Winslet. To my mind their acting is superb. The camerawork is
fantastic, too. I heard that they made a full-size model of the «Titanic» for
this film.
Their troubles began when others
found out about this love affair.
Despite everyone and everything Rose
and Jack stood by each other and
resisted obeying the rules and
boundaries of class differentiation.
Unfortunately, we will never know
whether this beautiful love story
would have the happy end as Jack died
during the wreck of the Titanic. Rose
survived. At the end of the film we
realize that she will keep these
feelings in her heart. And she did. She
carried them through the rest of her
life.
The $8,4 million costume budget alone would finance several independent movies.
Production designer Peter Lamont copied the real Titanic down to the exact shade of
green on the chairs in the smoking lounge.
The sumptuous sets have made-to-order replicas of the china, the stained-glass windows
- and since all of it was going to be destroyed, nothing could be rented. «To the best of
our knowledge, there was no violation of historical truth», says Cameron. «We have a
great responsibility. Whatever we make, will become the truth, the visual reality that a
generation will accept», says Cameron. The special effects are in the service of the story. 
To my mind, «Titanic» is one of those films after which no one will remain indifferent.
During the film we follow the story of two people, feeling for them. We don’t give up
hope for the happy end, which was never meant to happen. The film impresses us to a
great extent and we keep reflecting upon it afterwards. After this film one can think a lot
about happiness, love, tragic coincidence and destiny’s predetermination.
 It’s a very spectacular film. It is also a moving love-story. I
advise everyone to watch «Titanic». The film was awarded 11
Oscars and I’m sure it deserves every one of them.
