- THE END -

There are no last stands, Gregorio isn’t the last man standing
because he is the one who’s commanding his soldiers to crouch down
and what to do next. Since, he is the only one standing, he became
an easy target to the shooters especially they did not expect that a
fellow Filipino (An Igorot who was ridiculed and abused by the
Filipino soldiers) will snitch on them and tell the blind spot of their
site to the Americans. They did not expect anything at all since the
terrain is approximately 4,000 feet and there’s no way that the
enemies can find their way up the hill. He was shot from the back of
his neck through his mouth and died right after that. The general died
but he completed his mission. It was also said that after Gregorio
died, the remaining soldiers ran down the hill while removing all their
military accessories, they didn’t surrender but they ran away
(Valiente, 2018).
