What is Social Media Marketing?
Social media marketing is the use of social media platforms to
connect with your audience to build your brand, increase sales,
and drive website traffic

Facebook is a social network that allows users to interact with others,


connect with friends and family, and share photos, video, and information.
Purpose
The official stated purpose of Facebook is to make the world more open and connected. 
Mission
Facebook's latest mission statement is that people use Facebook to stay connected with
friends and family, discover what's going on in the world and share and express what matters
to them.

 INSTAGRAM
Instagram was started in San Francisco by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, who
initially tried creating a platform similar to Foursquare but then turned their attention
exclusively to photo sharing.
The word Instagram is an amalgam of "instant camera" and "telegram.“
Purpose
 to enable users to share images or videos with their audience.
LinkedIn

 LinkedIn is a social network that focuses on professional networking and career


development.
 Purpose
 can use LinkedIn to display your resume, search for jobs, and enhance your
professional reputation by posting updates and interacting with other people.
 Pinterest is one of the largest visual social networks, in which it is possible to
share images, videos, infographics and all kinds of content that are
predominantly visual.
 In addition, most users who have an online project or are thinking of creating
it use it as a « drawer of ideas .
Its format allows you to organize, file and share your « pins » (publications) by
topics, interests or hobbies, among other options.
Twitter

Twitter is an online social networking service that


enables users to send, or ‘tweet’, 140-character
messages, or ‘tweets’.
YouTube

 YouTube is considered a social media platform. What's more, it is also the 2nd most-
used search engine following Google. ... For the record, YouTube is used in this fashion
primarily by the younger generation, and not as frequently as those who might actually
have the resources to become a customer.

 For many young people, YouTube is used to watch music videos, comedy shows, how to
guides, recipes, hacks and more. Teens also use the video-sharing service to follow their
favourite vloggers (video blogger), subscribe to other YouTubers and celebrities they are
interested in.
Snapchat.

 Snapchat is a mobile app for Android and iOS devices. It's headed by co-founder
Evan Spiegel.

 Snapchat is a popular messaging app that lets users exchange pictures and
videos (called snaps) that are meant to disappear after they're viewed. It's
advertised as a "new type of camera" because the essential function is to take a
picture or video, add filters, lenses or other effects and share them with friends.
