Introduction
• The general administration of all the stores of a division
is vested in the Divisional Officer, on whom primarily
devolves the duty of arranging, in accordance with such
rules and instructions as may have been issued by
Government fo
(1) the acquisition of stores,
(2) their custody and distribution according to the
requirements of works, and
(3) their disposal.
Introduction
• Government officers entrusted by the Divisional Officer are
responsible for maintaining correct records and preparing correct
returns in respect of the stores
• All transactions of receipts and issues should be recorded, strictly in
accordance with the prescribed rules or procedure, in the order of
occurrence.
• Fictitious stock adjustments are strictly prohibited
• Any breach of this rule constitutes a serious irregularity, which will
be brought prominently to the notice of the appropriate authority
concerned by the Accountant General.
The four classes of stores enumerated in paragraph 121 of
the Central Public Works Department Code, thus fall into
two distinct categories as shown below :
