For this activity you will have 45 minutes:

• Go to the World English Book 3, Unit 10:

• You will work independently in all excercises proposed on pages 126 to 129.
• In the questions where you have to discuss something with a partner, you
should think about your answer.
• Keep your answers in a notebook and be ready to share them tomorrow in
class.

In this section we will review some topics related to sentence structure.

1. Read the following document on simple, compound and complex sentences.

2. When you are finished reading the text above, you will continue watching a video series to study the
following:
• Simple and complex structures
• Relative clauses
• Participle phrases

You’ll spend 40 minutes in this activity:

You will watch a series of 4 videos on Complex Structures. The videos are
from Griffith University, Australia.

• Take notes and write down key examples. You may stop the videos at any
time, but try watching them without much interruption.
• After you watch the 4 videos you can take a little break and then start doing
the Practice Section (at the bottom of the page).
• If you have any questions write them down and ask your teacher in class
tomorrow.
