Section 37-A of Republic Act 9700 otherwise know as the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with
Reforms (CARPER) which states that “the DAR shall establish and maintain a women's’ desk, which will be primarily
Responsible for formulating and implementing programs and activities related to the protection and promotion of
Women’s rights, as well as providing an avenue where women can register their complaints and grievances principally
Related to their rural activities”.

The women’s desk is envisioned as the DAR’s mechanism to protect and facilities better services to agrarian Reform
Beneficiaries on their rights to land the provision of support services credit and livelihood facilities and other issues
and concerns such as lectures of violence and discrimination in coordination with other concerned government agencies
such as the local Philippine National Police.

The revitalization of women’s desk office will start thru orientation-training of women’s desk officers of the DAR
Provincial and municipal offices in order to provide them knowledge and understanding of the functions and tasks to
equip them With the necessary skills needed to perform the tasks.
