What is challenge

The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a set of


organization and workflow patterns intended to guide
enterprises in Scaling Lean and Agile practices

digital age by quickly responding to market changes and
emerging opportunities with innovative business solutions.

Business Agility requires that everyone involved in delivering


solutions like business and technology leaders, development,

security.

push through each one, we experience a burst of pride as
well as a jolt of energy to charge towards the next one

• To reinforce and accelerate the SAFe transformation, leaders need to
‘measure and grow’
• the implementation at various points along the journey. This will help
maintain the energy and enthusiasm they are devoting to the short cycles of
Iterations and Program Increments (PIs) while setting their sights on the larger

• Agile Portfolio Operations coordinates and supports decentralized program


execution, enabling operational excellence.

• Lean Governance manages spending, audit and compliance, forecasting


expenses, and measurement.

Large Solution SAFe is meant for enterprises that face the
biggest challenges—building large-scale solutions that are
beyond the scope of a single ART to develop.
Alignment and coordination of ARTs and suppliers is
maintained by continually refining solution intent, aligning
everyone to a shared direction, alongside roadmaps that cover
multiple planning horizons.

Why Enterprise Solution Delivery ?
• Over the decades that these systems are operational, their purpose and mission
evolve. That calls for new capabilities, technology upgrades, security patches,
and other enhancements. As true ‘living systems,’ the activities above are
never really ‘done’ because the system itself is never ‘complete.’

• The DevOps movement has advanced best practices among significant


software systems to better support frequent system upgrades through a
Continuous Delivery Pipeline.

Essential SAFe contains the minimal set of roles, events,
and artifacts required to continuously deliver business
solutions via an Agile Release Train (ART) as a Team of
Agile Teams.

• Lean is a set of principles and practices for efficient manufacturing and
operations.
• It focuses on problem-solving and continuous improvement to increase
quality and eliminate waste.
• The SAFe House of Lean illustrates the goal of delivering value through the
pillars of respect for people and culture, flow, innovation, and relentless
improvement.
• Leadership provides the foundation on which everything else stands.

Agile

• Agile was born from a collaboration of 17 thought leaders in software


development who met in 2001 to seek alternatives to the documentation-
driven, heavyweight software development processes that were common at
the time.
• Agile is known for delivering iterative and incremental value in the form of
working software by promoting face-to-face interaction frequently between
developers, customers, and cross-functional, self-organizing teams.

• DevOps is a combination of two words, development and
operations.
• DevOps is a mindset, a culture, and a set of technical practices and tools. It
provides communication, integration, automation, and close cooperation
among all the people needed to plan, develop, test, deploy, release, and
maintain a Solution.
• Culture, Automation, Flow, Measurement, and Recovery
• DevSecOps shifts security practices left, performing them earlier
and continuously.

ScrumXP ScrumXP is a lightweight process to deliver value for
cross-functional, self-organized teams within SAFe.
It combines the power of Scrum work management
practices with Extreme Programming (XP) practices.

Team Team Kanban is a method that helps teams facilitate the flow of
value by visualizing workflow, establishing Work In Process
Kanban (WIP) limits, measuring throughput, and continuously
improving their process.
