PORTFOLIO
What’s a portfolio?
In English, a Portfolio should have:
• A Cover (including your name, group, school)
• An Index
(an ordered list of the materials included and the pages
where to find them)
• A Compulsory Section
(the material asked by your teacher)
• An Optional Section
(the material you decide to include)
• Your Reflection
(what you think and feel about your learning process)
Compulsory section:
• Vocabulary *: - Jobs (i.e. architect, etc.)
- Adjectives to describe people (i.e.
responsible, etc.)
* evidence you know the meaning of the key words
• Grammar *: - Present Simple / Present Continuous
- Past Simple – Verb “to be”
- Past Simple – regular / irregular verbs
* evidence you know the rules and how to use them
• Reading: - 1 text + reading comprehension activities
• Writing: - 1 piece of writing (of your choice)
Optional section:
• Anything you want to include because:
- you consider it’s important
- it is good evidence of your learning process
- you like it
- it was difficult for you, but you could do it
- you had fun doing it
• It can be something you did in class or not
• It can be part of this course or not
• It should be connected to the course or your learning process in
some way
How will it be evaluated?
There are 4 aspects to be considered:

1 – Content (if all the compulsory items are included, if no

other section was ommited) – 4 marks
2 – Organization (if everything is in the correct order, with
titles /subtitles, if it is easy to find something) – 2 marks
3 – Accuracy (if the material included is correct or there are
mistakes or wrong concepts) – 4 marks
4 – Presentation (if the material is tidy, if it is presented in a
creative way, if images were used to show
understanding, the time invested in your work) – 2 marks
