BIOGRAPHY
Born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 31, 1965

 Has 2 siblings, one sister and one brother o As a child,


his family moved all over the United States finally
settling in Fair Oaks, California
Attended college at Notre Dame as a part of the relay
track team and broke school records o Married his wife
Catherine in July 1989
 He now lives in North Carolina with his wife and
family

 In1985, his freshman year at Notre Dame, Sparks was injured and spent the whole
summer recovering. He wrote his first novel that summer, but it was never published.
 He wrote his second novel the same year him and his wife got married, 1989, but that
one was never published either.
 In 1994 over a period of 6 months he wrote The Notebook and it was sold and
published in 1996.
 From then on, he wrote several more books, all of which were property of Warner
Books / Grand Central Publishing.
BIG BREAK AND 'THE NOTEBOOK'
Sparks, now living in Greenville,
South Carolina, found an agent, who
found him a publisher. Within a
shockingly short span of time, Sparks
went from being a relative unknown to
being a writer with a book deal and $1
million movie rights contract.
CAREER
With the success of his first novel, he moved to New Bern, North
Carolina. He subsequently wrote several international bestsellers, and
several of his novels have been adapted as films:
A Walk to Remember ( (2002),
The Notebook (2004),  The Lucky One (2012), Safe

Nights in Rodanthe (2008), Haven (2013),

Dear John (2010), The Best of Me (2014), The


Longest Ride (2015),
The Last Song (2010),
The Choice (2016).
FILMS
Out of his 17 books , 7 of them have been created into films
CAREER
He has also sold the screenplay
adaptations of True Believer and At
First Sight. His 2016 novel, Two by
Two, sold about 98,000 copies during
the first week after release.11 of
Nicholas Sparks' novels have been
No. 1 New York Times Best Sellers.
BOOKS

Sparks has written 17 books, including a nonfiction memoir with his brother

 All were domestic and international best sellers and were translated into 45
different languages.
 His books have made over $ 80 million worldwide .

All his books are set in North Carolina, mostly around the coast, in Hampton,
Edenton, Rodanthe, New Bern, Pamlico County, Swansboro, Beaufort, and
Wilmington .
Sparks says he chose love stories because the genre had little to no competition .
THE BEST OF ME
The Best of Me is the latest novel written
by Nicholas Spark. It was first published on
October 2011 by Grand Central Publishing.
Like in other Spark's works, this novel has a
characteristic which can build an emotion of
the readers naturally without manipulation
and dramatization.
PLOT

The novel follows Dawson Cole and Amanda Collier, teenage


sweethearts who were once bound by a love so powerful, until such love
drove them apart. However, fast forward twenty five years later when the
two meet again after the death of their beloved mentor and find themselves
embroiled in a much familiar love affair.

Publishers Weekly.
