1 episode of the series “Little Golden America”

 Ilf and Petrov are famous authors in the USSR. In 1935 they visited America to
open American life to the citizens of the USSR. The idea of this program is for
Posner and Urgant to visit the same places as Ilf and Petrov. Urgant will be in
the role of Petrov, and Pozner in the role of Ilf.
 An interesting fact is that once taxis in New York had three lanterns on the
roof. Modern taxis in New York, unlike the previous ones, were exclusively
yellow. Moreover, taxi drivers could only be white-skinned people who spoke
English fluently and were well versed in the city, today there are no such
restrictions.
 Then Posner and Urgant told about Central Park and Fifth Avenue, which
divides the city into two parts - West and East. Central park is the largest and
most important public park in Manhattan.
 Empire State Building is one of the most famous buildings in the USA. Empire
State Building inspired directors M. Cooper and E. Shedsak to make the film
“King Kong”.
 The island of Manhattan has always been interesting for Europe and has been
fought hard. Therefore, the city that was founded there changed its name
several times. In 1964, the British finally seized the city and named it New
York, in honor of Duke of York (brother of King Charles II ) .
 The Statue of Liberty is the world's most famous symbol of freedom,
democracy and justice. This statue is located in New York.
 It is very easy to find work in New York, so children are taught to work since
childhood.
 In New York there are a lot of people of different nationalities, but they are all
very hospitable and welcoming.
My impressions
The first episode intrigued me and made me want to continue watching this
series. I learned a lot about New York landmarks and interesting facts about
the “city that never sleeps”. Even before, I didn't know where the name of
the city came from. Also of interest to me was the information about finding a
job in New York and their attitude to work in general. To sum up, I can say for
sure that this episode was useful for me.

2 episode of the series “Little Golden America”

 Leaving New York, Posenr and Urgant drove to Beacon to visit Pete Sigan. He
was just about to go to monthly city fees. Posner also asked Pete there is still
such a thing as the American Dream, but Pete replied that the country has
long been ruled by wealthy people and corporations.
 Urgant and Posner went to Cleveland. Surprisingly, Petrov and Ilf didn`t
impress this city at that time, although it was the fifth largest population and
center of industry. But in the 20th century it was called "the shame near the
lake."
 Posner interviewed entrepreneur Sidel Miller from Cleveland. She talked
about the realization of the American dream, that it is possible to achieve
something from scratch. But the key to success is work, patience and the
desire to communicate with people.
 Urgant interviewed another entrepreneur Larry Pollock, who also started his
business from scratch. He believed that if you work hard and focus on work,
you can earn a lot and this is his American dream, and its part is the ability to
give something and thereby help other people.
 Posner and Urgant visited the operating room, where the operation was
performed. They were impressed by the fact that doctors are very responsible
about their work and are always focused on it.
 Posner and Urgant highlighted a special American trait. Americans always
want to be the first, to participate in various experiments, events and to be
volunteers. Perhaps this is one of their keys to success.

My impressions
Through this series, I learned what the American dream is and it was
interesting for me to hear an opinion on this from the Americans. I listened
enthusiastically to the interviews with entrepreneurs Larry Pollock and Sidel
Miller. They both confirmed that the key to success is focus on work, patience
and the desire to communicate with people. So, in America anyone can start a
business from scratch.

3 episode of the series “Little Golden America”

 Volodymyr Pozner and Ivan Urgant continued their journey, heading to
Detroit. Detroit is the capital of American cars, because it was here that Ford's
first quad bike was created, and subsequently, their first production car. This
car was convenient, reliable, not expensive and affordable for everyone.
 Posner believes that this is the America we know from Detroit because roads,
bridges, and factories began to be built through the mass production of cars.
Therefore, Ivan and Vladimir also visited the Ford plant, which still produces
machines. The production there was no longer what it used to be. Although
jobs have already begun to replace the human workforce, employees are
confident that they will not be out of work because the company is always
looking after them and looking for jobs for them.
 In this story, the American Dream was once again described on the example
of the life of the famous Henry Ford, who also started his business from
scratch and later became a "car king".
 Almost at the end of this series, an old Posner friend, Brian Kahn, appeared.
He also joined the journey. The presenters drove to the Arab area of Detroit
to talk to various expatriates and find out how they live in America and
whether they feel American. Many people said they had a good life in America
because there are jobs and opportunities, but they still dream of returning to
their homeland.

My impressions

From this series I learned about the capital of American cars – Detroit. Before
watching the series, I didn’t know that Ford cars were produced in Detroit.
