Organizational Transformation
• Transformation: A change in shape, structure and nature
of something.
• Organizational Transformation: Radical change to
structure, culture & processes of organization.
• Organizational Transformation is response because of
Competitive pressure, merger, acquisition, investment,
change in technology, product line, market, cost reduction
exercise, decision to downsize, or outsource the work.
• Organizational Transformation decision should be initiated
by new chairman or top management team.

Strategies for organizational
Transformation
• Four strategies identified by Beckyard.
1. Production should be market driven. ( Being production
driven to market driven)
Eg. Nokia (unable to change)
2. Organization have to adopt decentralization strategy.
(Decentralization of Power at all level)
3. Organization have to adopt new technology.
Eg. SAP, Computer integrated manufacturing.
4. Develop customer focus culture ( Needs, wants) & believe
in innovation by research.

• Organizational transformation is required for getting more
than what organization getting right now.
• To manage transition……
• 1. Organization have to do a modification in which
origination does the business.
• 2. Organization have to do a modification in how people
interact with each other.
