Machu Picchu
• Location of Machu Picchu: 110 km northwest of the city
of Cusco, in the district of Machu Picchu, province of
Urubamba.
• The Inca city of Machu Picchu is a masterpiece of Inca
architecture. It is one of the most popular tourist
destinations in Peru and the world that is characterized
by its peculiar architectural and landscape
characteristics.
• The Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu is clearly divided
into two large areas: the agricultural area, made up of a
set of cultivation terraces, which are located to the
south; and the urban area, made up of buildings where
the Incas developed most of their main civil and religious
activities.
 Montaña de Siete colores
• Location: more than 100 km southeast of the
city of Cusco, in the district of Pitumarca.
• Is a mountainous formation tinged with shades
of a rainbow: red, purple, green, yellow, pink
and other variations.
• Despite the height at which it is located and its
recent discovery, the Mountain has become
one of the most visited tourist attractions in the
Cusco region.
 Archaeological Center of Sacsayhuamán
• Location of Sacsayhuamán: 3 km northeast of
the beautiful city of Cusco.
• Sacsayhuamán is a ceremonial fortress that was
built during the government of Pachacútec and
Huayna Cápac.
• It is built with stones that are distributed in
platforms, towers, doors, reservoirs, temples
and an immense esplanade where Inti Raymi
(the festival in the sun)
