Biography Of Rajendra Singh
Rajendra Singh (born 6 August 1959)
is an Indian water conservationist
and environmentalist from Alwar
district, Rajasthan in India. Also
known as "waterman of India", he
won the Magsaysay Award in 2001 and
Stockholm Water Prize in 2015. He
runs an NGO called 'Tarun Bharat
Sangh' (TBS), which was founded in
1975.
His Contribution To Have Greenry In
Arid Regions
For his work on water
management, he has
previously won 'Ramon
Magsaysay award' in 2001 and
'Stockhome Water Prize' in
2015 He shared his experiences
on how by constructing a huge
number of water harvesting
structures, he changed the
micro-climate of the arid
region of Rajasthan and
brought about water resources.
Rajendra Singh who is
better known as Jal
Pusush or Water man,
is water conservationist
from Rajasthan, India.
His pioneering efforts
in water harvesting and
management have led
to the revival of 5 rivers
and brought water to
over 1,000 villages
in Rajasthan.
