1: EMPOWERED LEARNER

Students leverage technology to take an active role in

choosing, achieving and demonstrating competency in
their learning goals, informed by the learning sciences.
1a: Articulate and set personal learning goals, develop strategies leveraging technology
to achieve them and reflect on the learning process itself to improve learning outcomes.

What standard to you feel will be the easiest of to you incorporate
into your curriculum and why?
Standard 2, Digital Citizen, will be the easiest for me to incorporate into my curriculum. I
believe my number one goal as an educator will be to protect my students. One of the
ways I can do this is by teaching them how to behave, not only in school, but, in the
digital world. My students will be fully aware of the awesome responsibility that comes
with access to the Internet.
What standard do you feel will be a challenge for you and why?

Standard 4, Innovative Designer, will be the most difficult standard for me to use in the
classroom. I desperately want my students to be creative and let their imaginations go
wherever it takes them. However, in my own life, “creative” isn’t the first word I’d use as
a self-descriptor. I can already feel that changing after two semesters back at school and I
will continue developing new ways to design things and solve problems.
