CEMENT PRODUCTION

John Fredy Galindez Galindez

University Valle 1
Objective 2

To make known the process

and the importance of the
cement industry in our
Country.
What is the cement? 3

He cement is a binder, a
substance used for
construction that sets,
hardens, and adheres to
other materials to bind
them together.
How Cement is Made 4

 Raw material extraction and trituration

Prehomogenization
Storage and dosage
Grinding
Clinker manufacturing
Plaster addition and grinding
pack
Raw material extraction and
5
trituration

Once raw materials

(limestone and clays)
are extracted from the
quarry, they are
transported to the plant
and crushed.
Prehomogenization 6

A band carries the

material, and this is
analyzed by a gamma
ray device then the
materials are mixed
Storage and dosage 7

The material is stored

to mix iron and
limestone minerals; It
is dosed according to
the type of cement that
is need.
Grinding 8

The material
crude is pulverized
in the mill, then
passed to the
homogenization
silo.
Clinker manufacturing 9

With high
temperatures, the
flour is transformed
into clinker (species
of small crystallized
stone, round, gray,
cooled rapidly). It is
used to coprocess
industrial waste.
Plaster addition and
10
grinding

The clinker is ground with

plaster in a ball mill, which
determines the type of cement.
Pack 11

Finally it is packed
in sacks and
agranel for later
distribution

short sentences related 13
to the topic

Of which quality the

cement is wanted.
Short setting time.
Long setting time.
What corrector to use
why did you chose this topic? 14

I chose this theme because I like

this industry, because it is curious
that from one rock it can produce
another material, which eventually
becomes large buildings.
