The document discusses the different types of pollution including water, air, noise, soil, and thermal pollution. It defines each type of pollution and provides examples. Some key causes of pollution mentioned are deforestation, industry, mining, urbanization, floods, fires, and volcanoes. The document concludes by suggesting ways to control pollution such as using eco-friendly resources, solar panels, and reducing waste through the three R's of reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Class : 5 f Roll no : 21 Pollution Pollution is the presence of dirt and harmful substances in our environment which alter its natural compositions. Types of Pollution There are five types of pollution : Water Pollution Air Pollution Noise Pollution Soil Pollution Thermal Pollution Water Pollution Water pollution occurs by the contamination of water bodies like lakes, rivers, oceans. Therefore environment degradation occurs which causes the pollutants to discharge directly or indirectly into water bodies. Air Pollution Air pollution is caused by release of particulates, biological molecules or harmful gases into atmosphere, which causes death to humans and damage to living organisms like food crops. Noise Pollution Noise pollution is excessive, displeasing human, animal, or machine-created environmental noise that disrupts the activity or balance of human or animal life. Soil Pollution Soil pollution refers to the contamination of soil with anomalous concentrations of toxic substances. It is a serious environmental concern since it harbors many health hazards. Thermal Pollution Thermal pollution, sometimes called "thermal enrichment“, is the degradation of water quality by any process that changes ambient water temperature. Causes of Pollution Natural Causes of Pollution are floods, forest fire, volcanos and agriculture etc. Man made causes of pollution are deforestation, industry, mining, urbanization. Controlling Pollution We can stop pollution by using eco-friendly resources and solar panels.
