The village of Omalo lies in the mountainous
region of Tusheti n northern Georgia, which politically belongs to the municipality of Akhmeta in Kakheti. The largest village in Tusheti, Omalo, is its administrative centre. Omalo is located at 1,880 metres above sea level and is only connected to the rest of the world via the «Tusheti Road». However, this road is closed during at least half of the year, which is why Omalo can usually only be visited between May and September. Stepantsminda, Kazbegi About Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) Stepantsminda is one of the most beautiful destination in Georgia. It's a little town surrounded by huge mountains. It's exceptional landscapes will remain in your memory forever. Stepantsminda is a new name, it has changed in 21th century. It's old name was Kazbegi which is coming from Georgian famous writer Alexander Kazbegi who was born here in Stepantsminda in 1848. Stepantsminda is the best place for people who loves mountains. You can stay at 5* hotel and wake up with stunning views every day. If you are outdoorsy person and love hiking then you can go further and climb to the top of the Mount Kazbek which is one of the highest peak not only in Georgia but in Europe. Bochorna is a highland village in Akhmeta
Municipality, northeast Georgia. Located in the Caucasus Mountains, at 2,345 metres above sea level, it is the highest inhabited place in the country and one of the highest in Europe. Bochorna had a permanent resident population of only one man at the time of the 2014 national census. According to the traditional subdivision of Georgia, the village is included in the Chaghma community of the province of Tusheti. Shatili, Khevsureti Khevsureti's fortified village Shatili is a village in the historical province of Khevsureti on the Arghuni River in the north of Georgia. It belongs to the municipality of Dusheti. The village is situated at 1,400 metres above sea level near the border to Chechnya. Since only one road leads to Shatili, which is often snowed in in winter, you cannot visit Shatili all year round. Shatili is an example of the brilliant and unique Khevsuretian architecture and engineering. The houses, built in the 12th and 13th centuries, are made of slate stones found in the surrounding area. Dartlo, Tusheti Is this the most beautiful village in Georgia? For many people, Dartlo is the most beautiful village in the whole of Tusheti. The medieval settlement lies in the heart of the remote mountain region and exudes a unique charm. When you arrive in Dartlo, you feel transported back in time. From the already remote village of Omalo, another 15 km further into the Pirikita high valley. And there it lies, the fairytale medieval settlement of Dartlo. At 1,850 metres above sea level, the village nestles against the slope, so that one might think it was built with the aim of creating a postcard motif. Ushguli is a village community in the Georgian region of
Svaneti. The village, which consists of four smaller villages, lies in the mountains of the Great Caucasus and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its defence towers. Located at an altitude of 2,086 to 2,200 metres, Ushguli is one of the highest villages in Europe. Ushguli consists of the four villages Murqmeli, Chashashi, Chvibiani and Shibiani, which line up along the river for a distance of two kilometres. From Shibiani, the highest village, it is only eight kilometres to the Shkhara Glacier. The route is very popular with hikers.
