Upgrade SLiMS in Hosting (Online)

Preparation
The things that you need to
have before upgrading your
SLiMS
1. Username and Password for cPanel
Username and Password are required for this session. Because in this
part you will create database, add privileges, and Extract your SLiMS
Bulian in here. You can request your hosting provider for username and
password

2. Source Code of SLiMS Bulian 9.3.1

You can download it in this link: https://slims.web.id/web/

3. Your Old Database

Get your old database from your previous SLiMS at xampp, portable
slims, or online (hosting).
Steps How to Open Your cPanel,
Uploading the Source Code and
Extract the File

01 Open your cPanel

Open your browser and type: *for example

slimsjkt.hasandigital.id/cpanel
Fill your username and password, then click Log in.

02 Upload Source Code and Extract Here

Click File Manager, Scroll down until you find “public_html”
then click it twice. After that click Upload and Select File. If
it’s done, click Go Back to “/home/slimsjkt/public_html” at
below.

Extract the file by Right Click then Extract. After that don’t
forget to rename the folder, maybe it will make it easier to
write on the website later. For example bulian_upgrade
 Create New Database, New User, and Add User to Database

Open MySQL Create new Database and Add User to

Databases User Database

Type at your browser Create new Database by Fill the Scroll down again and Click in User
slimsjkt.hasandigital.id/cpanel then log In. blank spot for example: Column, find the database user
Find “MySQL Databases in Databases slimsjkt_bulianupgrade then click “slimsjkt_bulianuser” then click it.
Column. create databases.
Move to the second column (Database
Scroll down and Add New User for Column) Find your database name
example: slimsjkt_bulianuser, type “slimsjkt_bulianupgrade” then click it.
the password: bulian2020 and then
create user And click Add, after that click/thick All
Privileges, Scroll down, Click Make
Changes and Done.

Click on your database

slimsjkt_bulianupgrade

Click phpMyAdmin

Go back to cpanel

 SLiMS Bulian Installer
Open your SLiMS Bulian Installer
Go to browser:
1. Type slimsjkt.hasandigital.id/bulian_upgrade
*bulian_upgrade’s name must same with the Fill database Information
folder that you have extracted and renamed
1. Database name fill with
before. The enter
slimsjkt_bulianupgrade. The database’s name
must SAME with the database that you
have created before.

2. Database username fill slimsjkt_bulianuser

*Remember the name that you have created

3. Password: bulian2020 *Remember the

password too
Open the installer at your browser
4. Then click test connection
Open your browser, then type localhost/bulian
1. Click get started 5. Connection ok, Next
2. Next
3. Choose Upgrade my SLiMS 6. Choose your SLiMS Version. Mine is SLiMS
Akasia 8.3.1.

7. Run the Installation and Done

8. Don’t forget to rename your Install Folder for

security. And click Go to my SLiMS. Done!
