Hot Spare Space Policy

Tips:
• Hot Spare Space is not equal to the space which
can be failed simultaneously without data loss
• Hot Spare Space is distributed throughout the
whole tier

Thick LUN: Extents are assigned to a LUN at the time the LUN gets created.
Thin LUN: Grains will be associated with written user data.

For each tier inside the Storage Pool the administrator can select the required RAID protection level.
