AIM
The aim of our project is to analyse the fluid mixing and to find the
optimum mixing length using 3-D jets.
SOFTWARES TO BE USED

• Project libre-
used for project plan
• Freecad-
used for cad modelling
• Salome-
will be used for mesh generation
• Openfoam-
will be used for analysis of the problem
PROJECT PLAN
LITERATURE SURVEY
UNDERSTANDING
• Jet:-
A rapid stream of fluid forced out of a small opening.

• Methods used for the analysis of jets:-

1. Exact Solution
2. Numerical Solution

IMPORTANT TERMS
• Boundary Layer-
It refers to the layer of fluid in the
immediate vicinity of a bounding
surface where the effects of viscosity
are significant.

• Shear Layer-
When two parallel streams of fluids
meet at an interface with a velocity
difference a shear layer is formed.
CAD MODEL
APPLICATIONS

When mixing of two fluids at different velocities takes place

3-D jets have greater applications.
E.g.:-
• Combustion Chamber
• Mixing in tanks
