Current Dividers

• A parallel circuit acts as a current divider


because the current entering the junction of
parallel branches gets divided up into several
individual branch currents.

Voltage Dividers
• A circuit consisting of a series string of
resistors connected to a voltage source acts as
a voltage divider.

Voltage Dividers
• The
  voltage drop across any resistor or
combination of resistors in a series circuit is
equal to the ratio of that resistance value to
the total resistance, multiplied by the source
voltage.

RT = (1 + 8.2 + 3.3) k𝜴 = 12.5 k𝜴
• VAB = VS = 25 V = 2V
• VAC = VS = VS = 25 V = 18.4 V
• VBD = VS = VS = 25 V = 23 V
