child labour

Child labour data Unemployment data

We can clearly see relation between both these graphs

states like Bihar, West Bengal , Andhra Pradesh have
high unemployment rates as well as Child labourers
working.
In pie charts we can clearly see that children make way less than a normal adult could earn. A daily wage
worker earns at least Rs.100-200 per day. While children are paid even less than 100 . Some are even unpaid;
they work on just food and shelter.
1. According to a report in The Statesman, the number of child workers
in India has fallen but incidents of sexual violence against children
has shot up.

2. The newspaper quoted Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi saying the

number of child workers in India had fallen from 12.5 million in 2001
to 10 million in 2011 and further to 4.2 million.

3. According to Satyarthi, there are 160 million child workers in the

world. “Almost half of them are victims of the worst form of child labour.
They are in a very dangerous situation. About five million of them are
slaves who do not have any kind of freedom. They are traded.”

4. According to ILO, there are 5.8 million child labourers in the age
group of 5-17 in India, of which 20 per cent perform work of hazardous
nature. A whopping 12.3 million children are out of school.
Child labourers rescued
during some past years. 2016- 30979
•We can see here that this number is still less 17
than the actual children working.
•Since there are lot of challenges regarding 2017- 47635
rescuing and rehibition of children. That’s why
Our system fails to end it completely, which will 18
be pointed out in next slide.

helps in helping • Proper laws can be introduced in parliament if these
data points be debated in both or either of the
those children? houses.

system fails by analyzing these statistics and help
find a better way government or NGOs handles it.
