 Ed-tech companies are a type of educational institutions that is delivered via the internet to students
using their home computers. During the last decade, online degrees and courses have become
popular alternative for a wide range of non-traditional students, include those who want to continue
working full-time or raising families. Most of the time, online degree programs and courses are offered
via the host school's online learning platform, although some are delivered using alternative
technologies. Although there are subtle dissimilarities, the main difference between online and
traditional learning is the fact that online education liberates the student from the usual trappings of
on-campus degree programs — including driving to school, planning their schedule around classes,
and being physically present for each sequence of their coursework.

 Online education is a flexible instructional delivery system that encompasses any kind of learning that
takes place via the Internet. Online learning gives educators an opportunity to reach students W.H.O

Introduction
may not be able to enroll in a traditional classroom course and supports students W.H.O need to work
on their own schedule and at their own pace. The quantity of distance learning and online degrees in
most disciplines is large and increasing rapidly. Schools and institutions that offer online learning are
also increasing in number. Students pursuing degrees via the online approach must be selective to
ensure that their coursework is done through a respected and credentialed institution.

 Online education is becoming more and more popular amongst students around the world. Although
many people consider an online degree to be a lesser form of education, they would be surprised to
learn that a recent study undertaken by SRI International (on behalf of the U.S. Department of
Education) concluded that “on average, students in online learning conditions performed better than
those receiving face-to-face instruction.” This study echoes the sentiments of many students, whether
they study English, Economics or Maths etc – it is time to start taking online education seriously.
ADVANTAGES OF STUDYNG ONLINE
Although many people still consider traditional universities as the best way to achieve knowledge and get a diploma, online learning
proves to be a great alternative. Students have the chance to study in their own time and especially for free. It represents a great way
to study many fields and to boost the level of self-motivation. Online learning is so effective because students can finish their
homework quickly, and there is more time left for hobbies or for finding a job.

An access to all resources of a traditional course helps participants learn wherever they are, leaving them the freedom to choose the
time for study. With basically an Internet connection, a person can attend different courses. Among the advantages of online learning
there are the responsibility and self-discipline of students.

DISADVANTAGES OF STUDYING ONLINE
Only in a small group a person can develop properly. At school, students learn how to make friends, be patient, get rid of
disappointment, and especially to compete. Competition between colleagues can be very stimulating and students will only benefit
from it. Online learning cannot offer human interaction.

Another disadvantage refers to the fact that online courses cannot cope with thousands of students that try to join discussions. Also,
online learning can be difficult, if it is meant for disciplines that involve practice.

In conclusion, online learning should be seen as a complement and extension of classical forms of learning. Not even the best online
course can fully replace the personal contact with a teacher, or the human relationships that develop in a group. So, traditional classes
shouldn’t be replaced with online learning.
 The whole education ecosystem is coming together to ensure that learners do not
suffer during these times of crisis. While the educators are giving free access to their
tools and technologies, learners are responding by utilising the opportunities in great
numbers.

 In the Indian e-learning market, Byju's is the leader among popular e-learning apps. It
is given close company by Oliveboard, Udemy, Coursera, Unacademy, NIIT, and
IGNOU.

 It's not just the school education platforms that are making their services free.
Oliveboard, which is one of the largest e-learning platforms for banking and

Rise of government job aspirants, is providing #GharPeCoaching, a free course for all banking
exams to all aspirants across the country to reduce the risk of corona virus infection.

 According to a study by Velocity MR, a leading market Research and Analysis

online company, 72 per cent Indians prefer online or e-learning as compared to traditional
classroom training.

platform
 Indian demography is ideal for online learning because many of the learners come
from rural or semi-rural areas where educational facilities, be it school, college or
entrance examination level, is below par

 Besides, the education provided by the existing universities are also not able to meet
the standards set out by India Inc. Also, professionals find it easier to up skill
themselves through e-learning courses that can be taken at their own convenience
while managing their jobs.

 Technology is rapidly evolving, Higher education has also taken the support of ICT and
now offers convenient ways to help increase the knowledge, education and literacy
status of people. E-learning platform provides anywhere, anytime easy access for up
gradation of knowledge and skills.
On 11th February 2020, the WHO announced a name for the new coronavirus disease as COVID-19. As lockdowns continue throughout
the world, many individuals are heading online for help – such as the 1.3 million people signed up for “The Science of Well Being”, a free
course from Yale University. Since the end of 2019, its enrolment numbers have risen 295%, and in March 2020 more than half a million
new learners signed up within a matter of weeks. The online enrolment boom is being experienced elsewhere, too.

The government of India has also initiated and directed to use numerous online platforms effectively by engaging students with online
learning through Information and Communication technology techniques. The Government of India through its Human Resource
Development Ministry and diverse departments working under it are bringing out numerous initiatives. The University Grants Commission
and its Inter University Centres (IUC) Informational and Library Network(INFLIBNET) and Consortium for educational Communication
(CEC) are part of this network. These platforms can be accessed by teacher, students and researchers.

Apart from these government sponsored resources, there are other e-learning platforms which are interactive and can be accessed from
home. In these Platforms, the teaching faculty has to first add their students to the list and then upload their lectures, course material,
audio instructions etc Most of the students who are on the rolls of higher education institutions have smart phones and other devices
irrespective of economic health in urban areas, so e-learning methods can hold ground till the virus is contained.

Other resource is Zoom Classroom which helps teachers to Video Conferencing, collaborations, virtual classrooms and Increase student
participation and learning retention with virtual and hybrid classrooms and micro-learning. Faculty members and students may do
video/audio conferencing through Skype, WhatsApp, Google Hangouts and other similar e-resources for discussion related to their course.

Moodle, is another option, which is an online platform with number of features for conducting online examinations. It can create and store
a question bank on the Moodle platform. The test time slot and time span can be set for the particular test with which we can test students.
Punjabi University is the pioneer in making full use of online platforms and connecting every student by every means available to deliver
course contents.

Experts predict an entire generation of learners will be forced into
online learning as countries shut down schools to contain the
spread of the new coronavirus.
With the negative effects of the virus set to impact global
economies well into 2021, the EdTech industry is now under
Why covid-19 will pressure to deliver efficient online solutions for learning and
development, particularly in China where students and workers

boom While schools and universities might struggle to adapt to this
change, experts believe private EdTech companies will benefit from
the mass adoption of online learning.
Here at TopMBA.com, we spoke to Robert Hsiung, MBA grad and
China CEO of the online educational company EMERITUS, to find
out more.
The sale of the Extramarks have been affected due to
pandemic. The company used to offer online as well as
offline courses for the students. But because of pandemic,
offline courses have been inaccessible. That’s why the
company was selling online courses through subscription.
And because of that there has been a change in the sales
and revenue of the company.
This project has focused on three regions which company
serves i.e. Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. The following
number of sales unit has been provided by our mentor.
Impact of We have taken the data of two months before and after
pandemic of sale pandemic hit.
Before lockdown, in the month of February and March the
of extramarks company has sold approx. 150 units. And the price of one
unit was Rs.30,000. And after lockdown, the company sold
800 units on subscription basis whose price started from
Rs. 2000.
Sale before lockdown i.e., in February and March – 150 * 30,000 = Rs. 45, 00,000
Sale after lockdown i.e., in May and June – 875 * 2,000 = Rs. 17, 50,000.
Here we can see that the customers have been increased. The sale of the company has also been
improved. But, the revenue of the company have been decreased massively by 61%.
Now let us understand this data graphically: -
2500

2000

1500

1000

500

0
0.5 1 1.5 2 2.5 3 3.5 4 4.5

The following graph shows the relationship between price and number of units sold. In the above
graph X axis represents number of units sold and Y-axis represents price per unit.
Here we can see that when price was less more units were sold but as the price increased the
sale if units started decreasing. But, because of less price the revenue generated was less as the
price was revenue generated was low.
Conclusion Limitations and
Learning Outcomes
It was a wonderful and learning experience for me while working
Conclusions on this project. This project took me through various phases of
project development and gave me the opportunity to learn about
management and how employees work in the organisational.
The online learning platforms has been booming because of
pandemic hit. Their sales have been rising continuously but at a
slower rate.
Sales of Extramarks Pvt. Ltd. is also increasing but due to lower
rates the revenue generation have been decreased.
Limited contacts
People were trying to elude due to lack of interest
High prices of the modules resulted in loss of customers
Limitations Problems in presenting the product
Demotivation due to daily rejection
During my internship period, I learned a lot of things about
marketing. Few of them are mentioned below:-
Generating network for business development.
Maintaining relationship with customers as well as acting as link
between the clients and the organisation and promote smooth
experience for the users.

Learning Getting over the fear of talking to new people – Taking to new
people every day was a big challenge for me. Generally, I avoid

Outcomes talking to people because I am kind off an introvert and this which
really scares me. This internship helped me and pushed me
towards my fear. I would say that I am not completely over this but
it is helping me.
Dealing with rejection – I the worst nightmare of every individual is
to face rejection. In this internship we faced rejection so many
times that I don’t think that it will affect me that much now.
