Ten reasons to recover Spanish in

the Philippines
First.-
The Philippines was forged in
Spanish. It is the mother tongue
in which our cultural identity,
our national identity was
created, and in which the
parents of our Filipino
homeland spoke and expressed
themselves. The one that spoke
our national heroes, Rizal and
Sacay. It is the language through
which our independence was
proclaimed and in which our
anthem was written and sung.
Second.-
Our names and surnames are in
Spanish, and many names of
our country as well. It is the
language of our elders and
ancestors, and in which they did
their life and activities.
Knowing it will help us to know
ourselves better: our roots and
origins, who we are and where
we come from.
Third.-
Together with other languages,
Spanish is a language that
makes up the linguistic
richness of our country, and
that should have the same
consideration and recognition
as others. We should not treat
Spanish as a foreign language
in the Philippines, as it has
been our first national
language. Our literature, our
first documents, press and
music were in Spanish.
Fourth.-
Knowing Spanish will help us better
understand our culture and religion,
and our oldest traditions. It is written
most of our history (three and a half
centuries) in the said language. Our
cities, our churches and hospitals, our
universities and our monuments; Our
laws, our religion and traditions, were
made in Spanish. Your knowledge
will help us to know our own History
better, and to understand and know
each other better as a country.
Fifth.-
It is a language of great lyrical,
phonetic and lexical beauty, a
thousand years old, which has
given a great literature worldwide,
and with a large number of
literary, dramatic,
cinematographic, musical and
artistic creations, and prose texts
and poems in verse. And that
offers a great cultural variety in
our days that we could enjoy.
Sixth.-
Spanish is a language of the
future. It has become
fashionable to learn it in the
World, and today it is
spoken by more than 450
million people worldwide. It
is the second most
widespread language in the
World, and the third most
widely spoken worldwide.
Seventh.-
Therefore, speaking Spanish will allow
us to improve our international
projection, both political, commercial
and cultural with today's World.
Speaking Spanish will allow us to be
more united with the Hispanic World
from which we should not be isolated.
Losing it, the Philippines could have
missed the opportunity to be the
center of Spanish studies throughout
Southeast Asia.
Eighth.- In the workplace, Spanish
opens up many possibilities
for a professional future,
being an important language
in business, and becoming
necessary to obtain a good
job.
More and more demand for
large companies.
That is why every day more
students from the World,
even from the United States
of America, go to Spain to
study Spanish every year.
Nineth.-
Spanish will allow us to have
better communication with what
our grandparents called "mother
country Spain", and the Spanish.
A people that, from the distance,
continues to appreciate us and
consider us as its “brothers” of the
East.
Tenth.-
The Spanish language is part of
our culture, our history, and
ourselves. It's something of ours
that wanted to snatch us…..

and that now we can

recover.
For all this ...
In the
Philippines

Spanish, YES!
(Help spread it. Together we can achieve it.)
