own unique culture, apart from Welsh,
Scottish or Northern Irish culture.

England has also played an important role in
cinema, literature, music, art, technology,
engineering, democracy, philosophy, music,
science, mathematics and sport.
Humour, tradition, and good manners are
characteristics commonly associated with
being English. The secretary of state for
digital, culture, media and sport is the
government minister responsible for the
cultural life of England.
 GERMAN
German is a West Germanic
language of the Indo-European
language family, mainly spoken
in Central Europe. It is the most
widely spoken and official or
co-official language in Germany,
Austria, Switzerland,
Liechtenstein, and the Italian
province of SouthTyrol.
German is the most widely spoken
language in the European Union
ahead of Spanish, French and
even English. It is the official
language in Germany, Austria
and Liechtenstein and one of the
official languages in
Switzerlandand Luxembourg.

 CULTURE
One of the be straits of the German
people and culture is that they like to
take care of each other. For example,
lost items are hung on trees. If you are
at a park in Germany, or any where
near a tree, and you see something
hanging at its lowest branches, then
known that this is a lost thing.
Somebody has lost it, and the other
one who found it took care to hang it
on the tree. So when retracing their
steps, the owner will have it easier to
find their belonging
Paying the last respects to the dead is
part of every culture. In Germany, the
funeral lasts 3 to 4 days after the
death of the person. Relatives and
friends visit the family members of the
dead. A priest and ministrants,
wearing black and violet robes take
part in the first day of the funeral..
 SPANISH
Spanish is a Romance language of the Indo-
European language family that evolved from
colloquial Latin spoken in the Iberian Peninsula of
Europe. Today, it is a global language with more
than 500 million native speakers, mainly in the
Americas and Spain.Spanish is the official language
of 20 countries.
Spanish evolve from the Indo-European language
family which is also the root for the English
language too.German, French, Scandinavian, and
Salvic languages are also part of this language
family. Many languages in then South Asia and
India also originated from the Indo-European
language family.
Spain is the home of twoof the most popular fútbol
teams in the world: Real Madrid and
FC Barcelona. These two teams have been
competing for centuries, nipping at each other’
sheels and hosting some of the best players the
world has ever seen.Currently, they each have an
accumulated total of 96 wins each! That’ s as tight
as it can get for a rivalry that has existed for almost
100years.
 CULTURE
Dancing is perhaps one of the most
expressive forms of Spanish culture
and traditions. Many images of
passion and love are nurtured by
dances such as Flamenco, Fandango,
Jota, Copla,Paso Doble and Muñeira.
These traditional dances are often
accompanied by beautiful garments
and exotic instruments such as
castanets.
Watching people perform these dances
will surely light a fire in your heart
and will make you want to move your
feet just like they do. Their influence
even made it in to pop culture and you
might note ven notice, but the dancing

 JAPANESE
These three writing systems are the native

and sentences, while katakana is used
for foreign loan words as well as to
add emphasis.

variation there of. That’s because early
Portuguese explorers in Chin are

the Mandarin pronunciation they

‘Cipan’. So, while you may be
studying Japanese, you are technically
studying‘Nihongo’.
 CULTURE
For centuries, tooth blackening, known as
ohaguro, was a common practice for
Japanese women, particularly married
woman and geishas. In addition to being
considered attractive, this practice was also
believed to help protect the teeth against
decay and other dental issues. Women would
apply various substances to their teeth, such
as mixture softooth wax and ink, to maintain
their black appearance. The practice was
banned in the late 19th century, in an effort to
modernize Japan and make its culture more
appealing to Westerners.
It’s pretty common to see some one eating a bag
of chips or sipping coffee while walking down
the street in Western countries, but this is not
the case in Japan. While it isn’t considered
quite as rude as it used to be, eating or
drinking while walking is still looked upon as
poor manners. When most Japanese people
buy food or drink from a vending machine on
the street, for example, they’ll consume the
whole thing while standing beside the
machine to avoid walking with it.
