Introduction and Background
 Society is a large group of people who have learned to live
and co-exist together, often sharing the same culture.
Business is an economic system where goods and services are
exchanged for money.
 History of Nepal- Biratnagar Jute mill (1936)

Research Problem/ Social Problem
 Discrimination still prevailing in some societies.
 Thinking, Culture ,Traditions of people of the society
Justification behind the research project
 Our research title being "Society and Business"
 Know the prevailing problems for business to run in different society
 Present the problems to others
Research Methodology
We used the interview method to collect the information of
business operating in different society:
1) Meat shop in a Hindu Brahmin Society
2) Stationery near school and market
Research Findings
 researching the market, the society, the do’s and don’t of the
people living in that society are an essential part of business one
cannot afford to slack on.
 a correct place and correct society is necessary to run a business.
Relating to Sociological theory

 Our first case can be related to the


Ethnocentrism.
Linking with society and business
 The meat business that the Muslim man started was forced to close
in a month as it was located in a society where Brahmins were the
majority.
 The stationery shop business shows that running business in an
appropriate society resulted in good profit.
Conclusion and Policy implication
 the conclusions that we draw from our results and explain how the
findings may be important for policy, practice, or theory.

 Any person who is willing to start any business in a specific society


should analyze the culture, tradition of the people, determine the do's
and don't and think before taking any step in his/her business
