• Baffles are flow directing or obstructing vanes /panes used in some
industrial process vessels such as shell and tube heat exchangers and
chemical reactors and static mixers
AGITATOR
• Agitation is the process of mixing or combining different phases e.g.
gas with gas
• gas into liquids:dispersion
• Gases with granular solid: fluidization
• Liquid into gases: soraying and atomization and others

• Design of Agitators include a basic tank design, the vessel, baffles and
the draft tubes
