Introduction
• Melior is the word for
‘better’ in Latin. Our
space settlement
portrays an idea for a
better future in which
we have no limits.
Location
• Melior will be placed in Venus’ orbit; its
We will be here!
proximity is ideal, reducing flight time, our
journey lasting less than 6 months.

• With the right propulsion technology,

many more opportunities to launch arise,
being able to do so every 590 days.

The space settlement will orbit at 500 kilometers
above the Venusian atmosphere.

Design
• Melior’s main body consists of two
tori, each divided into 76
interchangeable modules. This
concept offer residents the chance
to live an exciting ‘routine-less’
life.

• Our high-tech robotic arms are

multi-purpose being used in
adjusting or switching the modules,
as well as being used for reparation
purposes.

Each accomodation willl be fully furnished
with neutral features.

Our 76 modules are each divided into 48

apartments, every single suite being able to
host up to 6 people.
The Launch
• The launching will take place at the Guiana
Space Center in the French Guiana to
minimize costs.

• Our idea is to launch a rocket every week

for 4 years, therefore the assembly will take
about 10 years.

• The rings will complete the assembly of the

station.

• We will use artificial gravity to mimic the

conditions on Earth, in order to establish a
healthy environment for the population.
Materials
• Aluminium is lighter than steel and
corrosion resistant thus making Melior
more fuel efficient and lightweight.

• Aerogels are a relatively new discovery

which we used for insulation.

• Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is
PTF
already used in the space industry due to E
it’s low reactivity.
Life support

• People will be transported to space in

capsules with the help of induced coma.

• Both physical and mental health will be

monitored by medical equipment, medication,
and specialized personnel.
Sleeping Pod
• Nutrition will be provided by vegetal
products and nutritional supplements.
Water
• Water will be obtained through chemical processing of Venus’s atmosphere and furthermore it
will be recycled forming a cyclic system in which the water is filtered.

• Water and food resources belong to our heath area that makes up 25% of our habitable space
of the ship.

Infrastructure

• Our legislation us based on the idea of security and Public Space

equality, hence we chose as the power holder, the
government because it will allow all levels of society 25% 25% Health

process. 20% Leisure

• We will use a 13 year mandatory school system, that

will have as a final scope the finding of the students
true calling.
Infrastructure

• Economically speaking, we aim at assigning a better Public Space

value and stability of our currency in the system that
we created. 25% 25% Health

will include different variations of various domains

Costs

• The total cost of transportation: $48,510,598,968 (with current technologies)

• Materials: $17,463,815

• The total price: $48,528,062,783 ( if we wait for the creation of reusable rockets,
we should be able to minimize the costs to $114,485,012)
