A. HISTORY OF ASPIRIN

 Aspirin or acetylsalicylic acid (acetosal) is a type of

derivative of salicylate which is often used as an
analgesic (minor pain or pain), antipyretic (against fever)
and anti-inflammatory (inflammatory) agents. The
popularity of aspirin as a drug began in 1918 when flu
pandemics occurred in various regions of the world.
 Initial use of aspirin as a drug was initiated by
Hippocrates who used willow plant extracts to cure
various diseases.
DEFINITIONS

 Aspirin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug

used to treat pain (analgesic), overcome fever
(antipyretic) and overcome inflammation (anti-
inflammatory). In low doses aspirin can be used to
overcome thrombosis (antithrombotic) so it can also be
used to prevent heart attacks.
