strengthen their competencies in the teaching practice MINED, and CNU have designed the present
document including warm up, games, and classroom management.
OBJECTIVES
 To provide a theorical base for the development of the academic and professional skills address
to teach english classes in Elementary School.

 To empower teachers with the most effective classroom management strategies in primary
school.

 To practice resources studied, games and dynamic activities for the english classroom.

WHY YOU SHOULD ALWAYS START WITH A
WARMER

A warm up should be part of your everyday lesson plan and of course after you greeting is the first
thing you do with your ESL students. It should be an easy exercise that all students can participate in.
Participation of all students is important because this creates a fun focus on English in the classroom
and gets the ESL students ready to listen to their teacher.
WARM UP ACTIVITY (EXAMPLE)

Teacher introduces him/herself and greets the children by saying hello as she/he waves his/her hand
Invite the children to repeat after the teacher and wave their hands, too
Walk around saying hello to some children and invite them to answer back. Each time you do this, wave
your hand so that the children can relate the word to the movement. Ask them to wave their hands when
they answer.
Repeat this activity with the word hi.
Prompt students to practice with a classmate the greeting (hello/hi).
