yards, machines and equipment, regular
waste disposal and orderly processes,
operations, storage and filing of materials.

5S is a tool that represents the basic principles of housekeeping and workplace organization. It is more
than cleaning and painting. It is a disciplined approach to keep the workplace efficient and effective.

SEIRI (SORT)

Seiri is an action to
identify and eliminate all
unnecessary items from the
workplace.

Remove unnecessary clutter
Remove items which are broken, unusable or
only occasionally used
SEITON (SYSTEMATIZE)

Seiton is an action to put all
