Hydraulic circuit diagrams

Hydraulic circuit diagrams are complete drawings of a

hydraulic circuit. This diagrams show the:
Components and how they will interact
How to connect the components
How the system works, function of each component, and the oil
path in the system
Types of hydraulic
circuit diagrams

Pictorial diagram

Graphical diagram
Block diagram
A block diagram shows the components with
lines between the blocks, which indicate
connections and/or interactions.
Cutaway diagram
A cutaway diagram shows the internal construction of the
components as well as the flow paths.
Pictorial diagram
A pictorial diagram shows a circuit’s piping
arrangement. The components are seen
externally and are usually in a close
reproduction of their actual shapes and sizes.
Graphical diagram
A graphical diagram, the short-hand system of the industry, is
usually preferred for design and troubleshooting. Simple
geometric symbols represent the components and their
controls and connections.
Hydraulic circuit Symbols

Hydraulic circuit symbols

A representation of the figure in
the external part of the
component
A cross section indicating
internal contraction
A graphic diagram indicating its
function
Graphic and Symbolic
diagram
The most common representation
in the industry
Uses geometrical shapes that
indicate the interconnection
functions of lines and components
Commonly used symbols
Lines(pipes)
1. Work line- continuous lines

2. Pilot line- long dashes

3. Drain line- short dashes
